Surface Finishes

Surface finishes have two significant functions for wood floors: to protect the wood floor underneath the coating, and to enhance the look of the wood flooring.

FERMA prefinished hardwood floors are finished by 8 coats of urethane-based coating by UV-cured process and embedded with Aluminum Oxide which provides extra durability. UV-cured is a process by which the finish is applied by ultra violet lights that can quickly apply 6-10 layers of coating. Aluminum Oxide is chips added into the urethane finish for increased abrasion resistance of the wear layer and is often used on high quality hardwood floors. Although the surface finish is very tough, hardwood floor should still be treated with care, however, the finish can protect the wood floor from a variety of defects like old wax marks. FERMA prefinished hardwood floor comes in semi-gloss finish and bamboo floor comes in matte finish.
