A specie surrounded by urban legends, serving as the state tree for several states, White Oak has been a valuable source of timber since the beginning of colonial time. Its water resistant nature were used to make wine barrels and ships, its far stretching branch makes shaded our children, and now FERMA brings you the pre-finished White Oak wood floors to the comfort of your home. The heartwood is light brown and some boards may have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white to cream. Grain is straight and open with occasional crotches, swirls and burls. White Oak exhibits a considerable variation among boards in color and grain texture, depending naturally on the wood grades. The Janka hardness is 1,210. It is available in natural color, butter scotch, gunstock and wheat color.
