Known to emit a strong scent when fresh cut, Santos Mahogany (Red Cabrueva) is a superior alternative to genuine mahogany. Unlike normal mahogany which is too soft for flooring, Santos Mahogany’s trademark hardness, density, and stability makes it a great choice for flooring purposes. Texture is even and very fine. The wood shows a medium range of color variation, from light yellowish orange to dark reddish or brownish. The wood is also known to have little color variation and the affect tends to slowly mute overtime. The hardness is 2,200 and the Dimensional Stability is 6.2.
