Kempas is a commonly used floor in Far East, usually grown in Malaysia and Indonesia. It is one of the hardest, strongest and most durable timbers in the South East Asia region. With a strong resemblance to Brazilian Cherry, and Santos Mahogany, the Asian Rosewood is a great choice for those seeking exotic alternatives from the South East Asia region. It is a relatively photosensitive wood, which means the color darkens over time when exposed under sunlight. The grain is mostly wavy and spiraled and the texture is coarse. The hardness is 1,854.
