White Oak is a common choice for American homes from time to time. The heartwood is light brown and some boards may have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white to cream. Grain is straight and open with occasional crotches, swirls and burls. White Oak has exhibited a considerable variation among boards in color and grain texture, depending naturally on the wood grades. The hardness is 1,210.
