White Oak is a common choice for American homes from time to time. The heartwood is light brown and some boards may have a pinkish tint or a slight grayish cast. The sapwood is white to cream. Grain is straight and open with occasional crotches, swirls and burls. White Oak has exhibited a considerable variation among boards in color and grain texture, depending naturally on the wood grades. The hardness is 1,210. It is available in natural color, butter scotch color and gunstock color.
