Brazilian Cherry is one of the most popular exotic wood floors in the U.S. markets, best known for its hardness. The sapwood is gray-white, heartwood is salmon red to orange-brown when fresh, and turns to russet or reddish brown over time, often marked with dark streaks. Grain is interlocked and the texture ranges from medium to rather coarse. Product exhibits moderate to high color variation. The hardness is 2,350, and the dimensional stability is 8.5, which is 1% more stable than Northern Red Oak. It is available in Natural color and also a distinctive Mahogany Red color.
